DECISION FENCE & SUPERPOWERS
Three months ago I chose to take a GIANT LEAP to be a full time entrepreneur and support people on my terms.
This decision has been long in the making. With a million small steps - and several big ones - I stood on top of the Decision Fence and made the move to leave a corporate 9-5 and become the full time Founder & CEO of Pull the Focus.
Most notably, this leap allows me to combine my varied corporate experience with my executive coaching expertise.
Up to this point, I’ve focused on helping private clients, but my real passion is helping people inside organizations navigate new roles, big changes, and uncertain times.
Having spent 20 years in the high-stress trenches of non-fiction TV, I know exactly what it’s like to be in high-ego, high-conflict environments.
Here’s the fun part - I’ve taken the last three months to get crystal clear on my superpowers:
• I love helping people take big, audacious ideas and bring them to life.
• Navigating high-ego environments that require careful attention to bolster collaboration and reduce siloed thinking is my specialty.
• My unique ability to speak the language of creatives, executives and the team members in between means I support leaders to get out of the weeds and adopt a critical 360 degree viewpoint.
• Conflict doesn’t scare me. I’m on a mission to take my 20 years as a negotiator, haggling every square inch of TV production budgets on both sides of the table, to empower others to improve communication, drive collaboration, and ask for what they want without feeling paralyzed by high stakes negotiations.
I take all of this into supporting organizations with my 1:1 coaching, workshops and development programs, to help talent at all levels work smarter, not harder and to thrive and drive sustainable results.
I know first-hand what it’s taken me to make an incredible pivot - a shift that I believe to be life-changing for me, my family, and all of the people who I will help as a coach.
If you’re standing on top of the Decision Fence, feeling all the feelings, here are a few key things that helped me:
Acknowledge that coming to a conclusion about a decision is really hard. Making the decision and following through is just another Action Step.
Getting clear about WHY the decision is important to me was key. For me, I made a decision about how I can live and work as the best version of myself and have the greatest impact on the world.
Closure is an important step not to be overlooked. That’s a big part of this post. I barrelled towards the door and my new life as full-time entrepreneur, yet I want to make some closure on the really important chapters of my life.
So now when I ask you if you’re ready to pull your dreams into focus, I have both hands open to truly support you to make your dreams sharp with my whole FOCUS!
