Welcome to Pull the Focus

Hi – Welcome to Pull the Focus.

I’m so glad that you’re here and I can’t wait for us to get to know each other. I promise, there’s magic here and I’m thrilled to discover it together.

I believe that when a woman feels empowered in her leadership + well in her physical body that equals the kind of powerhouse our organizations, governments and families need most to thrive.

I believe power + longevity in leadership is directly linked to how we take care of ourselves.

I believe high-performing women in busy, demanding jobs can be thoughtful about both their leadership development + their health and wellbeing at the same time.

I believe connecting this cross-section is imperative for leaders, especially women – especially working moms – to have enough energy to step fully into what matters most to them. I also believe it’s one of our biggest challenges.

Companies invest so much into both leadership development and health/wellbeing of their employees, but often these two paths never meet. This leaves leaders – especially women – to figure out how to integrate both on their own. And I know from experience that the integration journey is one of the toughest + most rewarding.

I’ve been in the trenches as a TV executive juggling small kids, an entrepreneurial  husband, wellness goals and aspirations of making the world a better place. I know exactly what it feels like to believe there is more to life, but not quite sure how to make it all happen. I know what it feels like on the inside when burned out is more than just a buzzword to overcome.

What I learned the hard way is that showing up for myself first is the only sustainable way I can show up for all my other goals, priorities and interests – to truly lead. I’ll be the first to tell you that it feels like keeping plates spinning on tiny wooden dowels, and you have to make sure that YOU are always one of the plates that stays in motion. Just like any good circus act, it takes practice and sometimes plates fall. Pick them up and try again.

Maybe you have a challenging inner voice that critiques your every move. Maybe you’re concerned about how your body will handle added stress if you jump in the deep end of the great things you think you can achieve. Maybe you notice that your gut is both what you eat or how you feel about a decision.

That’s where the magic is here. The work we do together in coaching takes notice of those connections, quiets the distractions and gives you tools to elevate what matters most to you.

What makes you tick?

What fires you up that you cannot sit still unless you make a lasting, meaningful difference?

What needs your touch of beauty to bring goodness forward?

What makes you feel whole and happy inside your body?

What are your non-negotiable values that you want front and center in focus?

What does Pull the Focus mean?

It’s a play on a camera term – a nod to my years behind the scenes in media.

To pull focus is a very specific job shifting the lens focus from one subject to another, often playing with depth and the focal point, drawing the audience’s attention to what’s important in-scene.

That’s what I see coaching as – the opportunity to shift your focus from whatever is right in front of you to the depth of what really matters most to you. And like any great tv or movie scene, you need to be illuminated so you can be the star!
