A Big Celebration

I’m celebrating. I met a goal at the end of May and I’m still celebrating.

It was a big goal - over 9 months in the making.

I completed the Playing Big Facilitators Training with Tara Mohr based on her book Playing Big: Practical Wisdom for Women Who Want to Speak Up, Create and Lead

This book really set me on my course to coaching, so participating in this training with Tara is a big step towards my personal goals to play bigger.

Completing this weekly course over the last 8 months also included a lengthy assessment exam, full of thought provoking questions that empowered me to apply the learning and think deeply about how I can use these models to help YOU in your journeys as leaders.

When I first started reading Playing Big, it was moments before the pandemic started and I immediately shelved the book and the ideas that it was my time to do anything more than survive.

But I knew my calling was wedged within those pages - my calling to make the world a better place by empowering women to pull their own dreams into focus. My calling to help women step up with conviction, energy and enthusiasm, to get off the sidelines and into positions of leadership that so desperately need their power, voice and guiding purpose.

Much of my 1:1 coaching with women leaders leans into the Playing Big principles. Here are some of the incredible tools you may see in my tool kit if you join me for a session.

  • Quieting your inner critic

  • Finding an easier way to hear your own true voice

  • Naming and working with fear

  • Leaving the good girl attitude behind

  • Hearing your calling

And my personal favorite as a professional negotiator, honing the art of negotiating and how to approach every negotiation with the ease of just a conversation.

I’m walking away from this experience feeling so energized to be among a wonderful global cohort that are each taking a small corner of the world to help women and girls follow their dreams and passions.

I’m celebrating Playing Big as my lens to define my purpose for being here - to inspire women to stand up for themselves and do whatever it is that they do best.

I want self-advocacy to be your greatest form of self care, so that you can do or be anyone you want to.

I want each of you to take a slice of the world and make it a better place.

I know I can’t be everywhere, but by inspiring, encouraging and lighting up women everyday, not only can the work to make the world a better place get started, it will be fueled by commitment, grit and grace.

I’m celebrating knowing all of that to be true.

And I’m celebrating YOU because I know that you’ve got some big dreams brewing and you’re getting ready to pull those dreams into focus.

Let’s make them sharp!
